About the Position: This position is located on the Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) Campus, in the Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific Office, Building 160 and serves as the lead Public Affairs Officer and strategic communications advisor for the assigned Defense Health Network Director and Network Staff. The Tripler Army Medical Center Campus is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Duties

Coordinate the dissemination of information through the Defense Health Agency public affairs leadership to disseminate critical information and communication services, plans activities and enhance community relations initiatives. Formulate strategic communication methods to effectively message key themes to a wide range of audiences. Collaborate with senior leadership from the Military Treatment Facility Network Office and other key stakeholders to ensure proper dissemination of messaging and brand synchronization effectively communicate the Military Health System message. Facilitate positive relationships with representatives from a variety of Medical Organizations, Military Service Organizations, Veterans Service Organizations and other Federal Organizations. Manage special events, ceremonies, tours and other activities intended to develop interest in agency programs. Supervise a multi-disciplinary team of employees engaged in public affairs functions including marketing, sales, and administrative related duties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
