As a Grants Management Specialist, you will perform limited grants management analysis assignments that are developmental and recurring in nature, such as: reviewing proposals in a limited range of areas; using a variety of standard guidelines; and assisting in coordinating simple funding actions that begin the grant/agreements awards process.

Duties

Perform limited grant management analysis assignments that are developmental and recurring in nature. Assist in coordinating simple funding actions that begin the grant/agreements awards process. Provide assistance in the administration of the portfolio including setting appropriate work priorities. Apply knowledge of organizational needs and deadlines and follow-up to assure receipt of required documentation. Assist with activities related to monitoring grants, including receiving and reviewing progress reports.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-05 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: A. Completion of four (4) academic years of post-high school education leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree; OR B. Demonstrate in your resume at least three (3) years of general experience, at least one (1) of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: receiving grant applications and maintaining official grant files; assisting with maintaining records of expenditures and balances on hand; providing applicants with procedures for submitting grants proposals and the status of proposals; and maintaining program reference materials for preparation of program reports and other administrative documents; OR C. A combination of post high school education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. You qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: A. Completion of one full year of graduate level education; OR B. Meet one of the requirements for superior academic achievement based on a) graduating within the upper third of the graduating class in a college, university, or major subdivision such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; b) having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR c) being elected for membership in a national scholastic honor society; OR C. Demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: receiving grant applications and maintaining official grant files; maintaining records of grant expenditures and balances on hand and providing this information to program staff and other officials; compiling, summarizing, and reviewing program-related information in order to maintain project status and track program funds; providing applicants with information on various grant programs, including procedures for submitting proposals and the status of proposals; and maintaining program reference materials for preparation of program reports and other administrative documents; OR D. A combination of education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
