About the Position: Serves as a Deputy Director of Operations for the Joint Activities Command at Fort Liberty, NC.

Duties

Assess political, fiscal and operational liability to evaluate risk to the command and eliminated negative repercussions. Provide direction and guidance across the Directorates and to subordinate and adjacent units to ensure unity of effort before, during, and after operations. Determine appropriate response for unresolved or questionable issues and identifies mitigation measures to rectify contentious topics. Oversee the programming and execution of a budget for multiple divisions and organizational units. Manages the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of military, active/reserve, and Civilian personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (SCI) Security Clearance.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of work site (50 miles).
  • May require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 30% or less of the time.
  • May be subject to one-year probationary period unless previously completed.
  • May be subject to one year supervisory probationary period unless previously completed.
  • A deployable physical is REQUIRED as a condition of employment prior to entrance on duty and as needed, thereafter.
