About the Position: The incumbent will serve as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the Joint Activities.

Duties

Conducts special analysis and resolution of issues related to resources (dollars/manpower/facilities/equipment/information-technology security) required or available for support across command lines. Hears and resolves employee complaints, decision authority for full range of personnel actions (to include civilian disciplinary actions) as proposed/recommended by subordinate supervisors. Meets with senior officials of the Office of the Secretary of Defense OSD, the Service Departments the Interagency US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Geographical Combatant Commands. Participates in the development and implementation of both long and short-term policies and plans, goals, and objectives. Provides guidance for Command installation support activities and provides oversight of the daily operation of the command compound. Serves as senior technical advisor to the Commanding General for command wide plans/programs/policies for command wide activities. Translates broad guidance or objectives to specific tasks/direction. Speaks for the command.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
  • IAW change 3 to AR-600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, this position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position is designated as Key IAW Section 1580 of Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C.).
  • This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 15% of the time.
  • May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location. Required to carry hand-held communications - required to return to duty within 60 minutes after receipt of notification.
  • In conformance with AR 600-500, Standard of Conduct for DA personnel, Paragraphs 3-1 and 3-2A, incumbent of this position must file a Statement of Employment and Financial Interests.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
