The Division of Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic Diseases (KUH) supports research studies of the kidney, urinary tract, and blood disorders. KUH provides research funding and support for basic and clinical research studies of the kidney, urinary tract, and disorders of the blood and blood-forming organs. The KUH also provides funding for training and career development of persons committed to academic and clinical research.

Duties

Provide administrative and technical support for an organization. Develop routine plans or schedules using standard references and existing information. Implement the records management system for the office to ensure proper filing, accountability, storage and retrieval of files. Manage and prepare responses to a wide variety of internal and external correspondence for the office. Coordinate information and responses with appropriate staff and offices to ensure consistency and conformance with program policies, regulations, and formats. Provide assistance to staff to assure that routine responses to public inquiries on standard matters are appropriate and in compliance with executive preferences and policies.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for a Staff Assistant GS-0301 position at the GS-09 level, you must have: A. completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: identifying procedures required for the completion of an administrative project; responding to inquiries concerning organizational projects and activities; and distributing and drafting responses to internal and external correspondence; OR C. a combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
