Duties

Performing the full range of supervisory duties to employees. Setting the strategic direction for the office, planning the goals, objectives and initiatives required to achieve the strategic direction and implementing the plans. Assessing, developing, implementing, and managing the office's programs, policies and services. Formulating program plans, carrying out the plans, interpreting the findings, and assessing their organizational applicability. Ensuring programs are administered in accordance with pertinent regulations, policies and procedures. Managing the budget for all of the programs and ensuring contracts are administered appropriately. Overseeing the development and implementation of more efficient and streamlined methods and procedures to accomplish the goals and objectives of the office. Ensuring supervisors are properly trained and able to execute their human resources and equal employment opportunity management responsibilities in accordance with the appropriate procedures and regulations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

  • A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required upon selection/placement.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Supervisory Program Specialist, GS-0301-15, you must meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: supervising and managing subordinate staff; managing the budget and funding of administrative programs for a large organization and ensuring contracts are administered appropriately; developing, evaluating, and adjusting the organizational structure and management systems as necessary for organizational effectiveness; and overseeing the development and implementation of more efficient and streamlined methods and procedures to accomplish the goals and objectives of the office.
