This position serves as the Assistant Environmental Services (EVS) Coordinator with responsibility for assisting the Environmental Services Coordinator (EVS) in ensuring the uninterrupted housekeeping operations for the entire NIH Clinical Center as well as for the CRC institute laboratory spaces, food service cafeterias of the NIH Clinical Center, the Cloisters, and the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge. This position includes ensuring contractor compliance with contractual requirements.

Duties

Identifying and implementing programmatic and procedural changes to the EVS programs. Participating in comprehensive evaluation studies with quality assurance specialists to review and analyze the performance of the EVS activities including processes and conformance with regulatory requirements. Maintaining active coordination with Departments and Offices within the CC to identify and resolve issues related to the EVS services and to plan projects or activities to continuously improve operations and services. Preparing statements of work, evaluation criteria, and sole source justifications. Reviewing quotes from vendors for accuracy and completeness to ensure requirements are met. Discussing with the contractors any aspect of the contracted work that is lagging, problems and making recommendations for solutions, and reminding the contractors of their responsibility to perform to the contract schedule within funded amounts.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

  • The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable crouching, bending, standing, stooping, stretching, or walking such as in performing regular and recurring activities and inspections.
  • In addition to the work that may be performed in an office setting, the duties involve regular and recurring visits to hospital locations.
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • Applicants must meet all qualifications requirements within thirty (30) calendar days of the closing date of this announcement, including time in grade.
  • Visits to various parts of the clinical center may require use of appropriate protective clothing and observance of appropriate safety precautions.
  • If selected, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE Form 450.
  • This is a Tier I "emergency employee" position.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Ability to assist in managing and coordinating uninterrupted housekeeping operations for the facilities of a major healthcare organization by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards, serving as a contracting officer's representative to oversee the services, and collaborating with medical and administrative staffs.
