This position is located in the Animal Health Care Section (AHCS), Division of Intramural Research (DIR) at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).

Duties

Prepare all necessary documentation and ensures that all appropriate approvals and clearances are obtained for the recruitment, appointment, or renewal of professional, technical, and support staff, separations and terminations. Arranges and manages domestic, foreign, sponsored, and local travel for staff. Responsible for tracking contract lengths and taking the initiative to ensure renewals are processed accurately and on-time. Utilizes existing databases for various administrative areas for tracking purposes relating to personnel, travel, procurement, training, and animal program. Responsible for the dissemination of information, paperwork, and materials. Tracks expenditures of various types and monitors the overall budget of the laboratory.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for an Office Manager, GS-0301 position at the GS-09 level, you must have: A. completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D. Education must be related to the position to be qualifying; or B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: serving as primary point of contact for administrative support matters within a laboratory, coordinating the clerical activities of laboratory staff, independently preparing and managing all personnel packages for a laboratory, and serving as point of contact for all travel related matters for a laboratory; or C. a combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
