This position is within the Office of the Director, Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences, National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Department of Health and Human Services.

Duties

Leads a team of Program Specialists within the Office of Director, with responsibility for conducting policy and program analyses of a wide range of issues related to DCCPS’s research initiatives, grants, and scientific and administrative programs. Develops and advises on administrative requirements for a complex organization and actively participates in developing and implementing administrative management policies. Analyzes and evaluates, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of administrative programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Attends meetings and confers with staff and officials from the IC, NIH and/or other Federal agencies to provide coordination and consistency for policy and program recommendations and guidelines. Provides technical support to program staff during the development of projects or programs, including the development of goals, performance measures and priorities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing program analysis, policy, and reporting activities to support organizational and administrative management programs and policies; analyzing the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting goals and objectives; providing program planning and operational support; developing methods to improve organizational programs or operations; leading or participating in projects to accomplish work activities; coordinating work activities with other staff, management officials, or organizations; and serving as a team leader for other staff.
