You will serve as an Assistant Project Superintendent (Nuclear) in the Operations Department, Nuclear Production Manager's Office of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will plan, manage, execute, and complete the nuclear work assigned to meet established standard of safety, quality, and within cost estimate, and scheduled deadlines/target dates. You will motivate, teach, enable, and empower team personnel to establish a continuous learning and improving environment in the organization. You will assure that essential items are included in the work package, compare present and future workloads to evaluate the Shipyard's ability to perform the work and recommend acceptance or rejection of the work package. You will assure that line items are scoped, arrange for tooling and availability of support facilities. You will oversee key aspects of the work progress on assigned projects; identifying problems that cause work delays or stoppages and take action to resolve them.   • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to work a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts.
  • You must be willing and able to accept a temporary promotion/reassignment not to exceed one year.
  • You will be required to successfully complete all necessary nuclear training required to perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector directing the administrative, organizational requirements and nuclear production efforts for ship overhaul, repair or conversion projects.
