If you are an exceptionally talented, knowledgeable, and motivated individual with supervisory experience in a variety of immigration processing duties, including J-1 Exchange visitors, H1B, TNs, and F-1s, then consider joining the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Division of International Services (DIS). Duties

Plans, initiates, and/or conducts program surveys, studies, or evaluations. Primary Training Program Liaison (TPL) to oversee the filings of J-1 ECFMG applications for medical residents and fellows, and oversees other clinical related cases. Reviews new or proposed personnel policies, procedures and guidelines and makes recommendations to management on the need for changes in existing policies. Provides expert policy interpretations on interrelated program issues that cross non-immigrant hiring areas, are sensitive, highly complex, visible, and controversial, and affect many individuals and/or organizations within the agency. Develops or proposes new policies, procedures, and guidelines on hosting of foreign nationals, and makes recommendations to management on the need for new or modified policies. Participates and supports the Director in carrying out the managerial responsibilities of the division, including planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing the work of the division’s professional and support staff members

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing and implementing comprehensive plans and strategies for the integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions and activities for an immigration office; analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of immigration programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives; analyzing program performance data to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement; and, evaluating the impact of immigration new or proposed legislation, regulations, policies or procedures on existing programs.
