About the Position: Serves as a Police Officer (Traffic Investigator) located at the US Army Installation Management Command, USAG (Redstone Arsenal) Directorate of Emergency Services Police/Provost Marshall Division.

Duties

Serves as senior subject matter expert for collision response, investigations, reconstruction and traffic management protocols. Develops and implements traffic plans and programs through use of in-depth surveys of traffic patterns. Prepares and approves traffic accident investigations and writes technical reports of investigative findings. Responds to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service. Prepares documents, technical reports and charts statistical tables. Identifies developmental and training needs of personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • This position requires a initial and annual Drug Test.
  • Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment and recurring medical/psychiatric evaluation.
  • Incumbent must meet the Lautenberg Amendment requirements.
  • Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations and statues.
  • Position requires a Secret clearance.
  • Position is subject to the Individual Reliability Program.
  • This position is mission essential.
  • Position requires a valid driver's license and a government motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Position requires Temporary duty (TDY) 10% of the time
  • Incumbent is subject to possible civil and criminal action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious us of force in apprehension or detention of individuals.
  • Graduated from (or are willing to attend within 1 year of hire) the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
  • Successfully graduated from a DOD, Federal, National or State approved Traffic Management and Collision Investigation (TMCI) course or complete within one year of hire date.
