About the Position: Serve as a Supervisory Police Officer, within the Operations Patrol Branch within the Law Enforcement Division of the Directorate of Emergency Services with the overall responsibility for the command and control of all law enforcement patrol, desk, and admin operations in a geographic area of responsibility on a major military installation.

Duties

Supervise law enforcement and security work in the preservation of the peace; the prevention, detection, and reporting of crimes; the arrest or apprehension of violators; and the provision of assistance to citizens in emergency situations. Advise Garrison Commander on law enforcement and force protection issues and related programs when required. Makes community relations visits, to other law enforcement agencies to discuss problems, level of service, future plans and needs. Review and develop implementation plans for new or changed laws, policies, and regulations affecting programs. Prepares position papers on Law Enforcement issues for the Command Group and higher headquarters as needed. Recommend solutions and coordinate implementation of major changes in procedures, staffing, funding, organization and staffing. Assign and explain work requirements to subordinate levels of supervision and analyzes work requirements and determines staff resources, equipment, and other resources needed to accomplish work assignments.

  • This position requires the incumbent to work rotating shifts, holidays, and be on call.
  • This position requires the incumbent to qualify and maintain qualification for the Individual Reliability Program.
  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential".
  • Must undergo and pass a pre-employment physical agility test annually.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Position requires the incumbent to perform a weapons qualification test and maintain proficiency in assigned weapons.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position is subject to random drug testing.
  • Incumbent must complete and pass U.S. Army military Police School (USAMPS) Civilian Police Academy .
  • Incumbent must complete and pass Field training Officer (FTO) program.
  • Incumbent must complete and pass Field training Officer (FTO) program.
  • Required to complete the Supervisory Probationary Period.
