Duties

Schedules and participates in periodic inspections of child care facilities including the participation in site visits. Participates in the development and modification of automated systems and applications used in managing child care programs and information. Participates in utilizing and maintaining NIH websites and various forms of social media to administer, promote, and distribute information regarding NIH child and family care programs. Reviews feedback received from contractors and employees and other sources of information addressing the quality of services provided. Recommends appropriate changes in existing policies, methods, procedures, and practices designed to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the child and family services provided.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • Applicants must meet all qualifications requirements within thirty (30) calendar days of the closing date of this announcement, including time in grade.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing recommendations for changes in policies, methods, procedures, and practices to improve the quality, effectiveness, and responsiveness of child care services; developing a budget for providing child care services; monitoring child care facilities for compliance with operating requirements and standards; monitoring contractor performance to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and user agreements; reviewing information from customers and recipients of programs and services to identify and address quality issues; providing advice on the administration of child care centers and services. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
