About the Position: The U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404TH Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) APG is one of 77 worldwide centers supporting Army and other-than Army installations.

Duties

Serve as General Supply Specialist responsible for providing technical assistance on sustainment plans and operations, supply, maintenance, transportation, and operational contract support. Review and provides support in analyzing current operations, work in progress, and supply plans in relation to operational feasibility, adequacy, uniformity, and conformance to regulatory requirements. Prepare annual inventory schedule of accounts, reporting problems and discrepancies as required. Assist with trend analysis to identify potential problems, corrective actions, and recommended changes in operations that would prevent further problems from occurring. Work with Government Purchase Card (GPC) program manager to ensure authorized purchases meet requirements of the program and completed GPC request forms are accurate before being sent to the Billing Official. Review Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss (FLIPLs) for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as work that involves work that involves (1) conducting inventories of equipment and/or supplies; (2) establishing and/or maintaining property control records; (3) utilizing automated supply systems (such as but not limited to Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A), General Fund Enterprise business System (GFEBS), etc.; and (4) investigating discrepancies between inventories and hand receipts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Inventory Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data Systems and ManagementProblem SolvingQuality AssuranceSupply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
