Duties

You will serve as a Senior VoIP Engineer for the Research, Develpment, Test and Evaluation (RDTE) network responsible for deliver and management of managed telephony infrastructure service s across multiple sites throughout the US. You will assess new technologies to improve network operations and security of network. You will conduct feasibility studies and trade off analysis. You will develop long term plans for technology refresh and network upgrades. You will develop long range plans for network security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with network vulnerabilities. You will be responsible for daily operations of enterprise network firewalls, and Wide Area Network (WAN) connections.

Requirements

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 441 Network Operations Specialist, proficiency level Advanced, required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: improving network operations and security of network through implementation and integration of new technologies or develpment of new concepts, standards or methods. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A) (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
