You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Duties

You will serve as a Cloud Architect providing Cloud Architecture support to the NSWC Carderock Division Enterprise. You will advise NSWC Carderock in the planning and execution of the transition of information technology systems to a cloud hosting environment to include Enterprise architecture, cybersecurity compliance, and portfolio management You will manage the NSWC Carderock Cloud Architecture by determining policy, pricing, best practices and coordinating with Department of Defense and Department of Navy cloud providers as well as commercial cloud providers. You will prepare initial analyses and estimates of annual funding needs for Cloud operations for one or more future years by gathering, comparing, and correlating data about current and future programs/projects. You will manage a Cloud Architecture Working Group and Chair the Cloud Architecture Control Board. You will be responsible for the overall technical and cyber management of the NSWC Carderock Cloud Enterprise to include technical governance, engineering, network management, cybersecurity, and service management.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 801 Program Manager level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating Information Technology system implementation or transition projects to monitor customer requirements and provide guidance on resolving IT-related issues. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
