This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Administer a successful Command Equipment Management Program and Command Supply Discipline Program. Supervise and direct subordinates engaged in carrying out equipment management, material accountability and requisitioning functions. Analyze, modify, develop work requirements within the Equipment and Supply Branch to meet mission readiness. Prepare formal and informal evaluation of subordinates' performance and prepare award recognition recommendations. Research and resolve discrepancies and assist other accountable personnel to research and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Required to travel for business 15 Percent of the time.
  • One Year Supervisory Probationary period.
  • Must obtain and maintain American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), The Association for Operations Management, / Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Certification within (2) years of position acceptance

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Interpreting inventory management policies for review or creation of new operating procedures; 2) Conducting inventory checks to maintain accuracy and control of equipment and supplies; 3) Developing various reports, statistics, and briefings for a variety of audiences (i.e. - higher headquarters, subordinates, external stakeholders); AND 4) Utilizing various automated supply systems to plan and execute supply requirements. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). The assessments will supplement the interview process, with the results being one data element among several used to evaluate a candidate's technical skills, supervisory abilities, and position fit. Candidates will be notified with separate instructions should they be required to complete the assessments. About the Position: You will serve as Chief of the Equipment and Supply Branch, Material Distribution Division, Production Management Directorate, where you will manage work teams in supply management, initiate requisitions, expedite acquisition and movement of supplies required to support several major maintenance missions.
