Duties

As a Data Scientist (Data Management), at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties: Identifies and collects data from various sources, performing data cleaning and wrangling, conducting data analyses, interpreting findings, and presenting results to audience, including the Office of Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) leadership; Coordinates with stakeholders to collect requirements and develop new data products, such as forecast models, cost projection calculators, interactive dashboards, automated reports, and performance outcome (KPI) visualizations.; Collaborates with the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to investigate and evaluate suitability of emerging tools, methodologies, and techniques; AND Works with stakeholders to develop strategic approaches in utilizing data to build data products that inform OCFO activities.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the Basic Requirement and the Minimum Qualifications listed below: Basic Requirement: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in the paragraph above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Minimum Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Ensures the statistical validity and accuracy of all reports; Develops new data products, such as forecast models, cost projection calculators, interactive dashboards, automated reports, and performance outcome (KPI) visualizations; AND Participates in drafting data management strategies.
