DCSA is seeking a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist (Chief, Space and Facilities Planning) to oversee staff of space, facility and geospatial planning specialists. This position must be able to conduct both space and occupancy planning and program analysis, portfolio data management, and logistics management work as well as have a knowledge of operating programs and their interrelationships. As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing guidance and oversight over the creation of relevant space/facility goals or a multi-faceted, distributed organization. Developing long term plans regarding facility space. Communicating with customers and executive leadership. Executing space planning functions including real property, real estate, furniture acquisition, and work area standards. Working with a construction processes, land acquisition processes, or prospectus level work, processing and managing related projects. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Planning and Evaluating - Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; and monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. 2. Interpersonal Skills - Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences. 3. Creative Thinking - Uses imagination to develop new insights into situations and applies innovative solutions to problems; designs new methods where established methods and procedures are inapplicable or are unavailable. 4. Information Management - Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems. 5. Organizational Awareness - Knows the organization's mission and functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them; this includes the programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization.
