Duties

You will be responsible for facilitating the resolution of highly complex logistics problems, as early in the acquisition process as possible, involving large geographical areas and more than one agency/component. You will develop, initiates, and oversees implementation of significant corrective actions that result in the enhancement of logistics and influences the planning and execution of weapon system sustainment. You will perform logistic planning for cradle to grave life cycle sustainment of ground weapon system, including integrating maintenance planning; depot level vehicle and component repairs and refurbishments. You will be responsible for routinely reviewing and providing written feedback on sustainment policy at all levels. You will resolve highly complex logistical problems with component/agency/command-wide impact or involving more than one component/agency/command. You will ensure compliance with policies and recommend policy changes to fit requirements of the weapon systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This is an Acquisition workforce (AWF) position you must be willing to complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.
  • This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. You must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: In equipping members with the most capable ground weapon and information technology systems to maximize their expeditionary readiness and combat effectiveness to include coordinating the execution of integrated product support management for the ground weapon systems that encompasses new and emerging technologies or complicated fielding requirements.
