You will serve as a LEAD HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE (HRO) of ASSTSECNAV M-RA WASHINGTON DC.

Duties

You will serve as the team lead and will assist the supervisor with the for the distribution and balance of daily workload. You will provide mentorship to junior staff on the status and progress of work, amend or reject work, and report on the performance and training needs of employees to the direct supervisor. You will provide customer service and problem solving capabilities to executive level customers in the organization by advising on and resolving a wide range of complex Human Resource (HR) problems and issues. You will serve as a senior HR consultant to organization leadership, providing advice and guidance to managers and employees at all levels on HR policies, procedures and regulations. You will advise team members on general schedule and executive recruitment and coordinate correspondence and approval of all actions necessary to affect executive appointments. You will advise on and resolve a full range of HR problems and issues including reorganizations, restructuring and succession strategies, compensation and pay, performance, organization, and position design and workforce recruitment and sustainment. You will assess and make recommendations on proposed regulatory changes, designs, and execute implementation strategies, including development and participation in communication and briefing plans.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the individual to maintain unescorted access to the Pentagon.
  • The incumbent for this position is expected to participate in cross-functional team projects as management deems necessary.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying human resources principles, policies, regulations and practices to advise on workforce planning; providing advice on a wide variety of technical issues involving staffing and recruitment; AND researching, interpreting and advising management on classification and human resources issues.
