This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Capital Access, Office of Financial Program Operations (OFPO) in either Herndon, VA or Washington, D.C. The purpose of this position is to serve as a technical subject-matter expert in conducting performance audits of work completed by loan center personnel assigned to various departments, including commercial loan processing, servicing, resolution, and guaranty purchase, as well as disaster loan servicing and resolution.

As a Quality Control Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

GS-13: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service) obtained in either the private or public sector such as performing in-depth analysis of obligor's financial statements and earning potential of a variety of business enterprises to make recommendation for residential and commercial/business loan applications or servicing/liquidations actions, including a thorough working knowledge of a variety of collateral, business type, loan program and general economic conditions. Incumbent must also have experience develop and providing feedback or corrective action recommendations to others regarding financial services transactions. This experience must be reflected in your resume. Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualifications Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 02/15/2024.
