DCSA's Office Automation (OA) Team is looking for a Contact Representative to answer DCSA customer inquiries received over the phone or by written correspondence, primarily email. Duties

As a CONTACT REPRESENTATIVE (OFFICE OF AUTOMATION) you will be responsible for the following duties:

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Position is a (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 1601

  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-05) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Documented knowledge of fundamental administrative and office procedures such that the incumbent can resolve recurring administrative problems. Ability to absorb training and apply general sorting principles to information gathering work, filing, and other administrative support. Experience exercising sound judgment in dealing with customer issues. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Adaptability: Adapts quickly to changes. 2. Customer Service (Clerical/Technical): Works and communicates with clients and customers (e.g., any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit provides, including individuals who work in your agency or in other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to satisfy their expectations. Committed to quality services. 3. Listening: Receives, attends to, interprets, and responds to verbal messages and other cues such as body language in ways that are appropriate to listeners and situations. 4. Reasoning (Clerical/Technical): Discovers or selects rules, principles, or relationships between facts and other information.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
