About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Bliss, TX. This is a Planned Management Action open to Current Civilian Employees of the Organization. Current Civilian Employees of the Organization is defined as current employees of Fort Bliss, TX­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ with Career or Career Conditional Status within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Army employees with competitive status.

Duties

Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates logistics programs to include performing inspections, reviewing, and analyzing all aspects of the supply operations. Develops readiness and field/sustainment maintenance solutions for command level logistics issues. Assures critical logistics actions are integrated/coordinated with other organizations. Monitors logistics programs at all levels of the command. Translates research results into logistics maintenance/readiness policy recommendations. Performs complex studies and analysis of logistics processes and policies. Develop the quality assurance plans for the supply and services division. Provides contract oversight, including review, monitoring and evaluation of contractor performance and customer service in the installation supply and services activities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquires - Tier 1 Security Clearance.
  • Temporary duty travel of 5% may be required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes experience evaluating and analyzing logistics programs/operations; ensuring actions are integrated throughout command units regarding multiple logistics programs involving Army readiness and field and sustainment maintenance; providing logistics support to managers and commands; performing contract oversight and accountability for supply management functions; and maintaining an effective employee developmental program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementContract Management/SupportDecision MakingOperations Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
