The Logistics Management Specialist on the Material Management Team (AJW-L840) performs basic (but progressively more difficult) assignments under the general direction of the manager or more experienced professional/leader. Typically acts as a member of a team for assigned projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility.

Duties

Applies basic knowledge applicable to forecasting, monitoring, coordinating and control of assigned inventory items required for the effective and efficient maintenance and operation of the NAS. Monitors supply support effectiveness and resolves problems with assigned items utilizing appropriate regulations and procedures. identifies and initiates alternate supply support methods which are consistent with program plans and applicable policies. Monitors cost and pricing information and makes adjustments to financial data in accordance with policies and procedures. Manages financial records on assigned items to support the objectives of the organizations, compiles financial information for budgeting purposes and performs cost and economic analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-F (GS/FG 5-9) Level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 3 years of progressively responsible general work experience, with at least 1 year equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level that demonstrates the ability to:1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.2) Plan and organize work.3) Communicate effectively.OREducation Substitution: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university.ORCombination Education and Experience may be qualifying for this position.**All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement**
