As a Supervisory Project Finance Specialist (Managing Director, Agribusiness), you will be responsible for managing a team of specialists coordinating multiple projects/transactions related to financing commercially viable investments that address development challenges in international emerging markets.

Duties

Manages staff members performing the full range of work related to project or corporate financing of investments in all geographies where DFC operates and sectors including but not limited to agribusiness, logistics, water-sanitation-and-hygiene, and on-lending through microfinance, banking, and non-banking institutions and facilities. Directs staff members on technical aspects of projects or transactions ensuring project or deal analysis is sound and complete before referral to higher management. Collaborates with many parties internal and external to the Corporation to determine whether projects are feasible and should be developed for review by the Corporation approving authorities, committees, and boards. Works with clients in the development and execution of the Corporation terms and commitments, including negotiation of agreements and disbursement of funds. Conducts planning and program development studies to advance the reach of the Corporation's programs and to meet the agency mission. Participates in conferences and corporate events to represent the Corporation on projects and transactions. Please Note: This is not a Bargaining unit position

  • This position will require foreign travel to developing countries

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that includes experience: 1) conducting the full range of new corporate or project finance investment financing involving originating, negotiating, and managing all aspects of debt investments in commercial food security enterprises in developing countries; 2) leading or mentoring junior investment analysis in underwriting of food security investments in developing countries; 3) providing project management and oversight to multiple complex commercial food security investments in developing countries; AND 4) coordinating with an international development organization on financing joint projects that provide foreign aid and/or development assistance. Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
