This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Intelligence Analysis. As an Intelligence Research Specialist (Watch Officer), you will be responsible for monitoring incoming intelligence and national security information and notifying or distributing that information to Treasury senior leadership.

Duties

Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Intelligence Research Specialist (Watch Officer), you will: - Provide current intelligence information to OIA and TFI leadership via notification reports, situation reports, and preparation of read books - Brief TFI senior officials and, as authorized, Treasury Department principals on current intelligence issues and late breaking developments. - Develop processes for and carry out procedures related to maintenance of DAS For Cyber Intelligence equipment or documentation, e.g. maintenance of Intelligence Operations. - Conduct research and analysis of complex operational issues and distribute information from intelligence, operations, and open sources. - Ensure that briefings, read-books, papers, responses to questions, coordination of articles, desk-notes, information papers, and slides are delivered in a timely, accurate and focused way in support of wider Treasury operations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes AT LEAST ONE of the following: -Experience preparing intelligence or other analytical assessments in the fields of terrorist financing, money laundering, or Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) proliferation; OR -Experience with intelligence collection, processing, production, and dissemination principles and techniques. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related; or LL.M., if related; OR You may qualify by a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 2 years may be combined with experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. Specialized experience for the GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes AT LEAST ONE OF the following: -Experience assisting with intelligence collection, processing, production and/or dissemination principles and techniques; OR -Experience with basic intelligence concepts or practices. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, if related; OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR You may qualify by a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience.
