Duties

This position is located in the Office of Data Science Strategy (ODSS), Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI), Office of the Director (OD), National Institutes of Health (NIH). ODSS leads the implementation of the NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science through scientific, technical, and operational collaboration with the institutes, centers, and offices that comprise NIH and provides trans-NIH leadership for the modernization of the NIH data resource ecosystem, development of a diverse and talented data science workforce, and building strategic partnerships to develop and disseminate advanced technologies and methods. This Health Scientist Administrator (Program Officer) will provide leadership, strategic guidance, and coordination for trans-NIH data science activities that include but are not limited to advocating for and coordinating activities associated with adoption of FAIR data principles that would enable better sharing, discovery, and secondary use of NIH funded data and advance trans-NIH program initiatives that address storage, management, and integration of diverse data to develop a strategy and establish a modern biomedical data ecosystem. The position is also expected to establish relevant partnerships to enhance education, adoption, and implementation of FAIR practices for sustainable data resources.
