Duties

You will serve as a Job Readiness Cell Material Handler for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. You will be required to process, handle, store, and issue of materials and equipment within a warehouse/supply facility. You will receive, store, and assemble kits containing a wide variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities. You will log receipt, storage, shipment, delivery and issue data. You will prepare inventory documents with required data for manual (or automated) inventory systems. You will process and independently review storage locations and count material to identify material, insure correctness of quantities, and labeling for inventory purposes. You will use manual or various material handling equipment (e.g. incidental or regular use of forklifts and pallet jacks, rotary storage devices etc.) to move, stack, bin, and position materials and equipment for issue, delivery and distribution. You will be required to organize, arrange, and remove stock in storage areas in accordance with established procedures to prevent damage, deterioration, and loss.

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • Overtime and/or shift work may be required.
