Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base is searching for an Electronics Engineer for Space Sensing Product Support (NH-0855-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent). Description: The Space Sensing Product Support Delta is seeking an Electronics Engineer to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate significant and complex projects in Space Systems and Ground Sustainment which represent critical segments of major operating programs. Performs electronics engineering work involved in the management of the sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment. Functions as the organization's technical specialist in developing system's performance requirements, objectives, integration, and testing. Provides estimation of time and resources needed for a project's system design, development, and support phases. Performs complex and comprehensive analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects. Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Ideal Candidate: Strong engineering experience with Missile Warning, Satellites, Terminals, and Command & Control (C2) systems. Proficient in the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, or other engineering disciplines. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and independently as a self-starter. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conceive and define solutions to complex problems. Strong knowledge of engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods. Effective communication skills for presenting technical information and preparing reports. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services. 2. Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment. 3. Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices. 4. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines. 5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.

Requirements

  • This position is eligible for telework 4-6 days a pay period.
  • Relocation incentives are authorized.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Position will be closed after 5 business days or after 75 applications are received.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours
