The Pathways Recent Graduate Program is for recently graduated or graduating individuals who are looking for developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service. Recent Graduates will serve on this appointment for one year learning the fundamentals of the position for which they can be converted. Duties

Process approved requests for personnel actions and enters into the payroll system. Process personnel documents for employee benefits, etc., and enters data into the system for health benefits, savings bonds, Federal Employees Group Life (FEGLI), salary allotments and awards. Obtain and submit fingerprints for processing of background investigation. Prepare special and recurring reports on various Administrative functions. Receive and accept or rejects leave audits completed by timekeepers in order to resolve leave error reports. Establish and maintain electronic Official Personnel Files for federal and county employees.

Requirements

  • You must be a US Citizen or US National
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check

Qualifications

The Pathways Recent Graduate Program is for recently graduated or graduating individuals who are looking for developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service. Recent Graduates will serve on this appointment for one year learning the fundamentals of the position for which they can be converted. If you meet the area of consideration identified in "This job is open to" and "Clarification from the agency" above, your application will be reviewed to determine if you meet the qualifications of the grade level(s) you apply for. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts. Failure to submit transcripts will result in an ineligible rating.) Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date 05/27/2024 of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined. For the GS-5 level: One year of specialized experience which includes providing a variety of administrative support services relating to applying office methods and procedures to provide clerical and limited technical support to any program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. For the GS-6 level: One year of specialized experience which includes providing a variety of administrative support services relating to personnel administration (i.e. promotions, reassignment, employee benefits, performance awards), procurement, property management and maintaining personnel files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as any degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.??????? For the GS-7 level: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of administrative support services in support of a business or program office, assisting in preparing operating budgets, making purchases of office supplies, equipment, vehicle and tracking expenditures, providing timekeeping services and reconciling time and attendance documents, and reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence and other administrative documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as any field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.
