This position is located in the Deputy to the Chairman & Chief Operating Office, Pay and Leave Administration Unit (PLA) within the Human Resources Branch (HRB) Performance, Compensation and Systems Section (PCS) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides operational services in pay and compensation, time and attendance, and reporting within associated HR information systems to a wide, diverse and geographically dispersed regional office employee population.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-11 Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience researching, interpreting, and applying administrative policies and procedures; and providing advice and guidance to managers and employees in at least two of the following areas time and attendance, debt management, leave policies and procedures, and personnel and/or payroll actions. OR EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level. CG-12 Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience researching, interpreting, and applying administrative policies and procedures; and providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on time and attendance, debt management, leave policies and procedures, and personnel and/or payroll actions. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
