You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Logistics Department, Mission Systems Group, MAO Code: AC33100, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. You will be supporting PMA-275 V-22 Joint Program as the V-22 Avionics and Software Deputy Assistance Program Manager for Logistics (DAPML).

Duties

You will develop and implement product support and maintenance concepts/requirements for assigned systems to achieve program goals and objectives. You will identify, plan and execute logistics efforts to ensure all aspects of the total systems life cycle (i.e. acquisition and sustainment) are in place to meet program requirements. You will develop and review program technical documentation and provide input and direction on logistics/maintenance issues and requirements. You will assist in the development and management of contract requirements (i.e. statements of work and contract data requirements) to support systems engineering/acquisition phases. You will participate in the V-22 Configuration Management Process by developing, reviewing and submitting all associated documentation in support of Engineering Change Proposals, Configuration Control Board presentations, and Technical Directives. You will critically evaluate the causes of support related problems and choose appropriate courses of action that balance the interests of the program mission and the stakeholders. You will establish a robust total cost of ownership effort and develop affordable readiness initiatives, where appropriate, to reduce life-cycle costs. You will participate in risk management processes and early identification of system integration risks. You will provide analysis on degraders and data gathered from logistics management information systems in the execution of logistics and program planning documentation. You will interface with services/agencies, supply chain managers, the Fleet, Fleet Support Team, field activities, test and evaluation organizations, other NAVAIR entities and contractors in performance of duties and resolution of issues. You will represent V-22 Avionics and Software IPTs at the ILS Working Groups, Logistics Product and Process Reviews, Integrated Logistics Assessments, Milestone Reviews, Maintenance Working Groups, etc., in support of the program. You will prepare and/or deliver presentations to customer/stakeholders in order to address support posture and justify logistics requirements/implementation.

  • Incumbent is required to regularly conduct on-site inspections walking, crawling, standing and climbing high stands or scaffolding to examine aircraft structures and components.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • The work also involves moderate risks which required special safety precaution such as: working around moving aircraft, propellers, jet blasts, and high noise levels.
  • May be exposed to hazardous ejection seats, bombs, rockets, missiles and other explosive devices, and in some cases may be present in area of high level electronic radiation, requiring protective clothing and equipment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Tracking and managing the implementation/execution of approved Technical Directive's and modifications for V-22 aircraft systems or similar aircraft systems; 2) Applying logistics principles and practices to ensure the total integration of product support elements to meet program requirements; 3) Utilizing integrated product support management to achieve an aircraft programs goals and objectives; 4) Assisting in preparing briefs and oral/written presentations regarding planning, programming, and executing Integrated Logistics Support requirements; 5) Submitting and defending Integrated Product Support budgets; and 6) Reducing life-cycle costs by establishing cost of ownership and developing affordable readiness initiatives.
