THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number PDD1637000 and is part of the WY 153rd Maintenance Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.

Duties

This position is located in the 153d Maintenance Squadron, Propulsion Element, (Jet Engine Intermediate Maintenance (JEIM) Propeller Shop and the Hush House). The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more subordinates in the performance of aircraft engine mechanic work. In addition, duties include journey level work, which involve the inspection, repair, modification, and servicing of jet aircraft engine systems and components, turboprops, small gas turbines, propellers, and propulsion assemblies both on and off aircraft. This position also involves performing duties that consist of installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, certifying, repairing, overhauling, modifying, and testing assigned jet or turbo-prop engines, propellers, and gas turbine engines and accessories such as starters, generators, fuel control devices, etc.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2, and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible). Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 MXS. Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training that has provided sufficient knowledge to complete the work of the FWS-8602 occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. AND In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must possess experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Enlisted: Must possess AFSC 2A671, Aerospace Propulsion DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid driver's license.
