Duties

Prepare correspondence, plans, operation orders (OPORDs), and fragmentary orders (FRAGOs) to support Battalion operations. Develops and carries out long-range logistics plans and specific projects to accomplish local civilian and military training and development. Assists in the coordination for theater clearance, theater specific training, and lodging or billeting for augmented personnel. Receive, review, and consolidate monthly training statistics in Unit Status Reports (USR) for review. Develops and maintains Emergency Operation Center (EOC) procedures to encompass sustaining current essential operations and collecting information for the commander and senior staff members. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates contingency and mobilization plans. Responsible for planning, monitoring, tracking, reporting, and evaluating training requirements for assigned military and civilian personnel. Provides guidance for incoming exercise personnel and assists in the coordination for theater clearance, theater specific training, and lodging or billeting for augmented personnel. Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates all classified and unclassified message traffic from higher headquarters.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
  • Temporary duty travel of 50% may be required.
  • This is an Emergency Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, the incumbent must perform all duties and requirements to ensure the success of combat operations of mobilization or an evacuation order.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete on-line computer based training and residential deployment training, as applicable.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
