You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (Mil/OA) in the S1 Department, IPAC Division, DEERS/RAPIDS Office of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will answer telephone calls giving correct Information and authoritative interpretation of rules concerning ID card eligibility, procedures for obtaining ID cards and DEERS enrollment. You will interview personnel to ascertain proof of eligibility for federal government identification card and to update personal data in the DEERS. You will perform a variety of general office and clerical tasks. You will research, interpret, and implement current directives, regulations, and policies pertaining to ID cards, DEERS/RAPIDS information, benefit eligibility for dependents and privileges. You will make independent determinations, resolve problems, and serve as final clerical reviewer prior to supervisor's signature on transactions related to ID cards and eligibility requirements for entitlement to Uniformed Services benefits.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Interviewing personnel and reviewing supporting documentation to ascertain proof of eligibility for federal government identification cards and updating personal data in DEERS/RAPIDS system.
