You will serve as an OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the FLEET READINESS BRANCH of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS.

Duties

You will provide subject matter expertise with responsibility for development, sustainment, and governance of the U.S. Navy readiness analytical models. You will develop new algorithms and tools to support data manipulation and findings. You will advise on relevant research and analytical studies to resolve critical operational problems and readiness initiatives. You will provide readiness-related briefings to senior level officials and submit mandatory reports.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing the automation and transmission of data; 2) Identifying methods, processes, algorithms, tools, and systems to extract and interpret findings from various structured and unstructured data sets; 3) Applying knowledge in mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and other scientific principles, data analysis, and data visualization; and 4) Interpreting policies promulgated from higher authorities and briefs. Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
