This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Assistant Director, Security Division, Security & Suitability Branch. The Personnel Security Specialist (Lead Adjudicator) performs a variety of security tasks in support of the AOC security program.  This position is considered "essential" for the purpose of reporting to work when the facility might otherwise be closed.

Duties

**Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.**

To be creditable, an applicant's specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. To qualify at the GS-13 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:  Processing background/security-related investigation and evaluating records and information on investigations;  Applying personnel security measures to make determinations on Security clearances consistent with national security and/or suitability issues. Presenting of reports and providing recommendations to management on security assessment investigations, new concepts and agency security policy.  Evaluating personnel security programs to determine the effectiveness and impact of procedures, guidelines and and security conflicts.
