This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Aviation Logistic Division (ALD), Elizabeth City, NC.

Duties

Serves as a supply systems analyst and is responsible for analyzing, recommending, developing, new and revised work methods, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.- Serving as team lead and/or project leader on major projects.- Managing, developing and maintaining AMMIS and other Supply/Logistics systems.- Researching and/or analyzing unstable or complex program issues where inventory and financial data are out of balance.- Comparing system specifications and requirements to identify incorrect transaction conditions leading to inventory and/or financial imbalances.- Analyzing data problems in the Surface Forces Logistics Center's IT tool suite to identify patterns, trends or systemic system problems.- Initiating new techniques for managing the supply support system for classes of supply that are essential to agency operations.- Reviewing and approving the ISD program/data base fidelity to supply accounts and warehousing system.- Analyzing impact of major regulatory changes or new legislation on various aspects of the agency's supply practices and procedures.

Qualifications

GS-11: Candidates must have at least 1 year specialized experience at the GS-9 level in the federal service; OR I have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education OR possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR I have a combination of graduate level education beyond the first 2 years of progressive graduate study and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. GS-12: Candidates must have at least 1 year specialized experience at the GS-11 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying specialized experience would include: good judgement and administrative skills; design, development and maintenance of AMMIS and other Supply/Logistics systems. Specialized experience is experience that has provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
