This position is located within a National Interagency Support Cache (NISC). The position performs administrative and support duties such as travel, training, records management, timekeeping, procurement management, and files management. This position works with a Director and provides administrative support. Duties

Performs a variety of clerical functions, such as travel, training, timekeeping, records management, document control, and requisitioning with the Integrated Acquisition System (IAS). Develops record systems which control the location, arrangement, and use of active files, and systematic retention and/or disposal of records according to established plans. Receives visitors, answers and transfers calls, and maintains the Director’s calendar/schedule as required. Assists Property Manager to transfer and survey documents necessary to reconcile the annual inventory. Attends meetings to keep abreast of new or revised regulations, procedures, and methods related to records maintenance and document control activities. Prepares and types correspondence, memorandums, messages, statistical reports, personnel and administrative forms.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note on Experience: Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month and year the work assignment started and ended; the hours worked per week; position title, and series and grade if applicable; and description of duties performed. This information must be provided for each permanent, temporary or seasonal appointment/work assignment or volunteer work and should be clearly documented as a separate block of time. Incomplete, inaccurate or conflicting work history may not be credited for qualifications purposes. This can result in an applicant not being considered for the position. Specialized Experience Requirement: GS-06: Applicants must have have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: Providing support and assistance in processing a wide variety of requisitions and reconciling purchases; and/or Establishing and maintaining an organizational unit's files, accountable property inventories, and/or records in hardcopy and/or electronic format in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives; and/or Using automated software to produces reports, correspondence, and other written documents in draft form; and/or Responding to non-technical requests and questions from internal and external customers and disseminating personnel policies and regulations to internal staff. OR One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position. For example, Business or Public Administration, Industrial Management, Computer Science, or Communication. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. OR An appropriate combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience.
