The Division of Administration (DA) directs the innovative internal management of the Commission’s business, personnel, financial, technological, security, and strategic operational resources. This position is located in the Business Operations Branch, Business Management Section of the Division of Administration within the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission).

If selected for this position, you will serve as a Business Management Specialist, advising and assisting with the formulation, implementation and tracking of business management matters such as:

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE CT-11 LEVEL: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR One (1) year of specialized experience at the CT/GS-09 grade level or equivalent; OR   Or a combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position. Examples of specialized experience equivalent to the CT/GS-09 level include that through which one has gained experience:  (1) applying theories, processes, practices, and techniques applicable to business management functions (e.g., financial management, procurement, travel and training activities, human capital management, logistics, internal controls, and information technology) sufficient to independently perform routine continuing assignments in these areas. (2) applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and/or resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature pertaining to business management functions.  TO QUALIFY AT THE CT-12 LEVEL,  Candidates must possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the CT/GS-11 grade level or equivalent;  Examples of specialized experience equivalent to the CT/GS-11 level include that through which one has gained experience:  (1) Executing administrative and operational functions including budget, human resources, strategic planning, logistics, and records management for office-wide programs; (2) Coordinating and managing budget and financial planning activities including budget planning, formulation and execution for an office or division; (3) Interpreting administrative policies, procedures, and/or guidelines for an office or division; and (4) Analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of business management activities and making recommendations to improve the efficiency of operations.
