About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, Operations Division. The office is located in downtown Omaha, NE, near the Missouri River and the city's wide array of parks, museums, historic sites, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Duties

Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and overseeing the administrative activities for operating projects, 27 Multipurpose Dams and 9 sub-impoundments, lakes and 6 Regulatory field offices. The incumbent uses knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to various management and organizational studies to determine long-range requirements. issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of substantive administrative support functions such as supply, budget, procurement, or personnel which serve to facilitate program operations. Reviews plans and recommends action to be taken by the Division. Makes independent action to secure the required administrative and managerial support to meet operating requirements. Maintains database for training received and projected for analysis of future training requirements. Incumbent is responsible for planning, development, and execution of administrative actions for the Division.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). GS-11:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Experience in formulating and executing a variety of routine operating budgets; AND 2.) Experience in drafting personnel actions for employees within an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
