You will serve as an Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Managerial Accounting Branch of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Duties

You will perform duties as the Lead in the Managerial Accounting Branch within the Comptroller Department. You will be responsible for communicating the command's strategic plan, mission, and values to be integrated into the Managerial Accounting team. You will be responsible for communicating the team's assignments, projects, and problems to be solved, including milestones, any program issues, deadlines and timeframes. You will monitor the collection, analysis and reporting of financial issues such as Budget Execution Validation (BEV), Dormant Account Review-Quarterly (DAR-Q), Unmatched Disbursements (UMDs) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systematic errors. You will serve as the SME for miscellaneous disbursements, ensuring team members follow the proper procedures for the processing miscellaneous disbursement request and that team members have the correct training to perform the duties. You will coach the team by providing advice on work methods, practices, and procedures as well as identify the parameters of viable solutions. You will prepare reports and maintain a record of work accomplishments made by the team that are related to the vendor payment process, BEV, DAR-Q, UMDs, Work with Private Party (WWPP) funds and miscellaneous disbursements.

  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience analyzing and evaluating financial data and transactions to identify and recommend adjustments or improvements in financial programs related to working capital fund business model.
