This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Manage and advise on the technical and administrative aspects of military family and unaccompanied housing programs (e.g., government- owned, leased, privatized, community). Review inspections of community rental properties to determine adequacy, habitability and suitability as a listing for referral. Assist in Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) data collection and report submission. Mediate residence issues. Maintain reports regarding housing, inventory and/or budgetary information.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be possess and maintain a valid State drivers license.
  • This position requires up to 5% annual business travel.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain a pre-employment background investigation- (NACI) National Agency Check with Inquiries.
  • This position may require incumbent to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 23 March 2006.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09 which includes Managing and/or advising on the technical and administrative aspects of military family and unaccompanied housing programs (e.g., government-owned, leased, privatized, community), Reviewing inspections of community rental properties to determine adequacy, habitability and suitability as a listing for referral, Counseling Active Duty and retired, accompanied and unaccompanied Military as well as DoD Civilians, and/or Family Members regarding housing options; Mediating residential or housing issues. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Real Estate, Property Management, or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
