Duties

Assists with the planning, supervising, administration, direction, execution, and promotion of a year round, multilevel competitive swimming program for a variety of ages. Helps plan, supervise, administer, direct, execute, and promote the Aquatics Team hosted meets. Oversees workouts, team members and individual practice groups. Must be able to make sound recommendations for decisions on program changes and innovations. Oversees the inventory of Swim Team property; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation and a health assessment.
  • Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service within 6 months.
  • All required certifications must be kept current.

Qualifications

Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a Swim program that included a variety of individual and team swim sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in swim activities and a working knowledge of the concepts, methods and techniques of competitive swimming as well as skill in applying those concepts, methods and techniques to achieve established goals. Must be an American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) at least Level 3. Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, & AED, and Water Safety for Swim Coaches Certifications. Highly Desirable: MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course and Lifeguard Management Note: Certification(s) must be submitted at time of application.
