You will serve as a Supervisor in the Spectrum Warfare Systems Department, Radar Technologies Division, RF Power Module Sustainment Section of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will execute workload for test and repair of microwave tubes and high voltage power supplies for multiple customers across NAVSEA, NAVSUP and NAVAIR. You will interview new employee candidates and make hiring determinations, evaluate and grade performance, recognize superior performance and initiate disciplinary action as required. You will certify time and approve small purchases, shipping documents and travel orders. You will resolve disputes between multiple parties and upper management to achieve the desired organizational performance. You will be responsible for the Section's Strategic Goals and Metrics; specifically, those pertaining to cost, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction. You will advocate the Section's Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and be proactive in instituting CI tools and methods. You will empower employees to make improvements to processes and be supportive and enabling of self-directed CI teams and events.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical leadership and guidance on test and evaluation projects to assist in the execution of installation or maintenance and repair of shipboard electronic warfare systems or subsystems (e.g., power supplies, microwave tubes, converters, amplifiers) to support technological advancement and sustainment of the fleet.
