Duties

You will serve as INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the TOOL ISSUE AND CONTROL SHOP (06A), MAINTENANCE DIVISION (TRF-311), REPARI DEPARTMENT (TRF-300), TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY (TRIREFFAC, KINGS BAY, GA. You will operate tools and equipment to determine their operating conditions. You will disassemble, repairs, reassembles, and adjust tools and equipment. You will operate and test reworked tools and equipment to assure proper performance. You will repair or replace defective, broken or worn parts as required. You will make adjustments to tools and equipment as required to achieve desired operating parameters in accordance with specifications and the requirements of users.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION such as: Experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, adjusting, and testing a wide variety of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical hand power tools and industrial equipment. Experience operating tools and equipment to determine their operating conditions and determine their need for repair or adjustment and the extent. Experience disassembling tools and equipment to whatever extent to gain access to parts and assemblies requiring repair or replacement. Experience operating and testing reworked tools and equipment to assure proper performance. Experience examining and troubleshooting to determine the extent of repairs required, materials or parts needed, and to estimate the time required to complete the repairs. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and illustrated parts breakdowns of tools and equipment. Experience utilizing various portable machine and hand tools such as flange facing machines, drills, grinders, punch presses, and cutting machines for repair of industrial machinery and equipment. Experience utilizing equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, vernier calipers, and various testing blocks and standards in order to repair, adjust, and test machinery and equipment. Experience operating and setting up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, radial drill presses, and precision grinders to manufacture components and parts or re-machine existing parts.
