About the Position: This position is located in the Financial Readiness Branch of the Army Community Services Division at the Directorate of Family Morale, Welfare, and Recreation on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Duties

Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive, basic, and intermediate level services addressing PFR, money management, consumer affairs, and emergency services for the Total Army Family. Identifies and recommends program resource requirements. Trains and provides technical guidance to paid and non-paid staff that performs duties in support of the mission. Responsible for handling and resolving complex client problems and utilizing outside agencies and contacts to assist clients with resolutions.

• Obtain and maintain a nationally recognized financial counselor certification IAW Service implementation guidelines (DoDI 1342.22,4.2,d(a) and (b) within 6 months of onboarding.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
