About the Position: This position is with U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord Washington.

Duties

Perform maintenance and repair of a variety of fixed, semi-fixed and portable industrial and production equipment. Determine nature and extent of repairs necessary, dismantle, adjust, repair, replace or fabricate parts, reassemble and perform operational tests to insure proper functioning. Inspect, classify and condition code items for turn-in or salvage. Document and maintain records required for a preventive maintenance program. Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing on equipment and all associated attachments. Perform minor carpentry and plumbing duties such as replacing/repairing doors/windows, painting, building partitions and shelves.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the Incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation.
  • This position requires the Incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driving license.
  • This position requires the Incumbent to successfully complete a pre-employment phsyical and annually thereafter
  • This position may require the Incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time.

Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Trouble Shooting PHYSICAL EFFORT???????: Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, walking, standing, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending and working in cramped and awkward positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally handles heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS: Usually works inside in areas that are well-lighted, heated and ventilated; may be required to work outside. Exposed to dust, dirt, oil, grease, fumes, noise subject to cuts, bruises, abrasions, shocks, strains; subject to more serious injury from falls from ladders, high pressure lines rupturing, moving machinery parts. May wear and use protective equipment and devices as required.
